Our aim is to discuss our experiences of homophobia and transphobia in the LSC and at CSU. 11:00 AM
I’m Choosing to Be Cautiously Optimistic, and Here’s Why… Student & Professional Employees Is the glass half full or half empty? Does it even matter? If phrases like “every cloud has a silver lining” pisses you off, you’re like me. Leadership is about preparing for the worst, while hoping for the best. In this workshop, we will explore this fascinating concept of hope (without using the word hope) and what we can learn from being cautiously optimistic. 11:00 AM
SEED: Increasing Our Bias Awareness Student Employees In this SEED workshop, we will start/continue to recognize some of our conscious and unconscious biases through an interactive activity. We will also discuss how increased awareness of our biases can help us be more effective and inclusive in our LSC roles. 11:00 AM
Keynote Follow-Up: Decolonizing Student/Staff Relations Student & Professional Employees College students are experiencing mental health issues at ever-increasing rates, while also becoming activists and/or advocates for the values they believe in. It is more important than ever to address how institutions develop systems of support and attend to the diverse needs of students and staff in order to reduce burnout, increased mental health symptoms and negative academic outcomes. This workshop will address these topics as well as share strategies for adopting a social justice approach to student/employer/employee relations. 11:00 AM

Addressing & Assessing Burnout Student & Professional Employees What a year 2020 was. How are you holding up? In a time when we may be simultaneously over stimulated and under connected, how are we understanding what we’re going through? Looking at the research of Drs. Amelia Nagoski and Emily Nagoski, we will understand stress, stressors, and what relatively small behaviors we can do to move through our stress cycles. When we are able to do this, we are able to act in the support roles often necessitated in our Student Employee and Professional Staff positions. Attend the session to learn, to apply strategies, and share your learnings with other people in your work and life. 11:00 AM
Learn How to Boost Belonging and Elevate Engagement Via Playful Online Teambuilding Student & Professional Employees Join other LSC employees playing, reflecting, absorbing, and conversing in mindful, uplifting, and transformative ways. This session is designed to present an intentional teambuilding sequence that can be replicated from beginning-to-end or could be divided up and added to one-on-one interactions, staff meetings, classes, and even family and friend gatherings. Overall, attendees will leave with some new resources to upgrade their “virtual playbook” in hopes to create more purposeful and joyful moments for themselves and with others, in a time we could all use it. 11:00 AM
